TCS Sydney Marathon 2026

Saturday 29 August – Sunday 30 August 2026

The TCS Sydney Marathon returns in August 2026, bringing runners from across Australia and around the world to one of the most spectacular courses in global marathon running.

Set against Sydney’s most recognisable landmarks, the 42.195km marathon takes runners from North Sydney, across the Sydney Harbour Bridge and through the city before finishing at the Sydney Opera House. It is a course built for big moments: early nerves at the start line, harbour views, city streets and a finish that few races can match.

The 2026 event will take place across two days, with the TCS Sydney Mini Marathon on Saturday 29 August and the full TCS Sydney Marathon on Sunday 30 August, with a total of 51,000 participants are expected across the weekend.

Stay at Pullman Sydney Airport for the Sydney Marathon

For runners and supporters travelling into Sydney for marathon weekend, Pullman Sydney Airport offers a premium base close to the airport and within easy reach of the city.

Arrive, check in and settle properly before race day. Mobius Bar & Grill is available for pre-race dining, while 24/7 in-room dining gives guests flexibility around early starts, late returns and post-race recovery. For interstate and international runners, staying close to Sydney Airport also makes the arrival and departure side of the weekend easier to manage.

Pullman Sydney Airport is also a practical choice for supporters following the event, with transport connections into the CBD, North Sydney and the Opera House precinct.

Getting to the Sydney Marathon from Pullman Sydney Airport

Sydney Marathon weekend moves across different parts of the city, so the best route depends on whether you are running, supporting or heading in for the finish line.

For the full marathon on Sunday 30 August, from Pullman Sydney Airport, the simplest option for many guests will be to walk to Mascot Station and travel by train towards the city, then continue to North Sydney. Runners should check the event’s official transport advice closer to the date, as early start times, road closures and crowd movement can change the best route on the day.

For the TCS Sydney Mini Marathon on Saturday 29 August, the start is on Macquarie Street in the CBD, with the finish at the Sydney Opera House. Guests can travel from Mascot Station into the city, then walk to the start area.

Supporters heading to the Opera House finish precinct should plan for busy trains, road closures and large crowds around Circular Quay and the CBD. Public transport is likely to be the easiest way in and out of the city across the weekend.

After the race, return to Pullman Sydney Airport by train from the city to Mascot Station, or use a taxi or rideshare once you are clear of the main event road closures.
